Background

Experience the power of automated door hardware specification for Revit

Specification is responsibility; dRVT keeps you in control.

Most teams rely on tribal knowledge or third-party consultants for door hardware, but the liability still falls on you. dRVT empowers your staff to confidently specify and verify hardware in real time, closing gaps in comprehension before they become costly mistakes.

Efficiency

Automate what shouldn’t require mental gymnastics. dRVT streamlines the hardware specification process with intelligent defaults, templates, and QA checks—so your team can move faster without sacrificing accuracy.

Consistency

Reduce variability across teams, phases, and projects. dRVT standardizes how hardware is documented and verified, ensuring your deliverables are coordinated, compliant, and defensible every time.

Fluency

dRVT doesn't just tell users what to do - it teaches them why it matters. By surfacing contextual logic, best practices, and code implications, it builds your team's long-term capability while getting the current job done right.

For architects, by architects

Before dRVT, we were juggling spreadsheets and markups just to keep our hardware sets straight. Now, it's all in Revit — and always accurate.

Project Architect

The ability to auto-generate hardware sets and push them directly to our schedules has completely changed how we document projects.

Technical Designer

Our team used to manually copy hardware sets from project to project. With dRVT, they're standardized, reusable, and totally Revit-native.

FAQs

Check out some of our recently asked questions

Does dRVT provide specifications or just hosts components?

dRVT is a platform for selecting hardware sets. Every firm has its own method for translating hardware sets into specifications, and it’s not our role to tell you which is right. What we’ve found is that most firms already design hundreds of unique hardware sets each year — dRVT helps you organize, reuse, and refine them, not replace your specification process.

If we save hardware sets in dRVT, do other firms have access to it?

No. Your data stays private and is only accessible to your team unless you choose to share it with others.

We use hardware consultants, do we need this?

Yes! dRVT is designed to reduce your reliance on hardware consultants by empowering your internal team to develop clear, coordinated hardware sets directly within Revit. Instead of approaching consultants with incomplete or disorganized sets, your team can use dRVT to build a strong foundation early in the design process — streamlining coordination and reducing back-and-forth. It helps your staff make informed decisions, leading to fewer errors and less dependency on outside consultants.

If we sign up, do you provide training?

Yes. Every subscription includes onboarding and training to get your team up and running quickly. We also offer ongoing support and resources as your projects evolve.
